While in the midst of dealing with my old website and email being hijacked, I started watching a series that originated on FX and then was packaged and sold to Amazon called The Americans. For those who haven’t seen it, the premise is that two Russian spies during the Cold War of the 1980’s are sent to Washington to spy for the KGB. American actress Keri Russell and Welsh actor, Mathew Rhys play the couple. Moscow has them become a married couple and they have actual children to make it all appear very real.
What was interesting (besides all the fun 80’s references and the romantic relationship of the couple) to me was that we see how cold blooded both the FBI and the KGB were, and yet both sides saw the other as being the bad guys. Both also saw themselves as being the ones most loyal to their country.
Now with the internet, so much of what could be secret in the spy world is no longer. I also think that the internet was meant on a higher level to be a mechanism for dissolving the concept of single country patriotism. Heh, if President Trump had fraternized with the Russians in Nixon’s time, he would have been impeached long ago. And 60 years ago, treason got you the death penalty. In some weird way, maybe it is a sign of progress that the man in the oval would even think of going to what was once our arch enemy for help to get him elected, and of course, it continues with the latest revelation. THE TRUTH WILL BE REVEALED. Capricorn rules government. The government as we know it will transform out of the ashes as The Russian Federation did.
My point is, that evolution moves in quirky, mysterious ways. Perhaps, we are meant to become identified as global citizens, not just American citizens in this coming decade.
In mundane astrology, the United States has the Cancer sun sign and through most of the 20th century, the USSR since Lenin in 1917 until 1991, was a Scorpio sun sign – secretive, all about acquiring others territories, and a very liberal attitude toward sexuality in contrast to the hypocritical, puritan roots of the U.S.
What is fascinating is that with the dissolving of the USSR on Dec 8, 1991 during freedom loving Sagittarius, it was Xmas day 1991 when the flag for the new Russia began flying at the Kremlin at 5:19 PM GMT. How ironic that an atheist country would choose that day. I have spoken often of the importance of looking at one’s north node to understand the highest lesson of your soul and your vocational path as well.
In the original chart of 20th century Russia, the north node was in Capricorn ( ruling the father, career, materialism, and society) and the south in Cancer ( the mother, the nurturer). The U.S.S.R.was meant to move away from its signature identity of loyalty to Mother Russia into having influence on the world stage. In the new chart, the Sun is now in Capricorn and within a half degree of exactitude to its original north node in 1917 as well as its current north node because the north node in both charts, despite being 74 years apart, are both in Capricorn!
The Russian Federation has stepped into its materially funded destiny, unlike how it was thirty years ago. Venus however, is in Scorpio in that chart, so the secrecy thing, sex, and love of accumulating others resources is still there but I thought that this was an amazing example of a country that crumbled and rebounded into a higher form than it was before, so Pluto like! People actually want to travel to Moscow from the West now. The way Moscow is described in the tv series about the Cold War 80’s is pretty bleak. Further, part of why this recent expose’ of President Trump going to the Russians has lit up is because Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio is in Capricorn and on the day it went direct, the proverbial fertilizer hit the fan.
Here is what this can mean for you: 1) It is showing us that if a dense consciousness like Russia can evolve ( remembering where they were 35 years ago) into its north node, we all can. 2) Three months before a solar eclipse, we start to feel the energy of that eclipse and this one we will all feel because it is in the sign ruling the masses. The eclipse on Dec 26th ( the day after Russky’s birthday) is meant to kick off 2020 and the deconstruction reconstruction of our country.
Pluto has a 250 year cycle. At the time of the Declaration of Independence, Pluto was last in Capricorn. We separated from an old form of government from the Brits. And here it is again: death and rebirth of society. The Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn we have not seen in Capricorn since 1894 BC.
I will talk about what was going on then as we get closer to December but I just want everyone to hold this as a powerful and positive transformation.
In summary, everyone on the world stage is playing their role for humanity’s ascension. The climate crisis, economic challenges, taking on racism and sexism ( our president’s blatant expression of it bringing it further to the surface) are all part of this bigger transformation that is calling each of us to be an activist in our lives.

Astrology Tips for the Week
- We have two void moon days, Tuesday 11:26 AM PDT – Wednesday at 9:05 AM
- Friday I recommend taking the day off. from 2:45 AM – 9:45 PM moon is void. The big challenge is that we are in a moon wobble
- Mercury will be in scorpio for 6 weeks, instead of its usual two. With Pluto ( the planet that rules Scorpio) now direct, it is a time of digging deep into our thinking. What Are you ready to activate in your life in the new decade?
- So yes, move ahead mindfully in a few days but remember that the energy around us and in us is not very stable as we build to this next solar eclipse in this last quarter of the last year of this decade. I will share more about that in the next newsletter.
