Thich Nhat Hanh’s astrology chart and what his life can teach all of us

I had the honor of being visited by a great being shortly after he left the planet. He showed me how we can all have access to his soul right now.

A humble monk who gave his life to inspiring people to make peace a spiritual path and revolutionary activism passed during the night. About twelve hours before I got the news on my instagram account at around 6:00 PM, I experienced this grief out of nowhere. The day itself had been quite joyous spending time with my closest friend and several clients and then making dinner for another friend. Out of the blue, this sadness descended. At 4:00 AM, I woke up to the same feeling. An impulse came over me to check my instagram account and there was a tribute to Thich Nhat Hanh.

I went into my own meditation and reached out to his spirit and he came in pretty quickly. I asked him how I can be a better peace ambassador for the planetary transition we are in. He told me to seek joy from the inner self and all will be well.

I want to share some observations I have from his astrology chart. TNH was born under the Sun, Venus, and Pallas Athene ( where you are an activist or spiritual warrior) sign of Libra. Libra is the quintessential peacemaker and in vocational astrology, although a humble monk, this would be his calling. He influenced the American Peace Movement through his urging of Martin Luther King to oppose the Vietnam War. During his Uranus opposition in 1967, Martin Luther King suggested they give the Nobel Peace Prize to him but alas, no one received that award that year.

This excerpt is from the NY Times:”Thich Nhat Hanh took up residence in France when the South Vietnamese government denied him permission to return from abroad after the signing of the Paris Peace Accords in 1973.He was unable to return to Vietnam until 2005, when the Communist government allowed him to teach, practice and travel throughout the country. His antiwar activism continued, and in a talk in Hanoi in 2008 he said the Iraq war had resulted from fear and misunderstanding in which violence fed on itself.”

The north node in one’s astrology chart represents one’s highest spiritual lesson. In his holiness’ chart, his north node was in Cancer, the sign of the mother, the home, and the family. It was his destiny to be forced out of his childhood home over and over in order to make the world his family and global home. Common to charts of religious or spiritual leaders is the sun making contact with the planet Jupiter. In his chart, the sun makes an exact aspect in trine ( harmonious) to his Jupiter in Aquarius. Jupiter rules higher knowledge, the guru, and abundance.

With his Sun Pluto Square, I would have expected an assassination for his speaking out as he did but for most of his life, Jupiter proved protective until 2014, when he was struck down by a stroke that left him without speech. Ram Dass also went through this very steep initiation in his spiritual path. Librans are normally pretty chatty so it is a testament to a lifetime of spiritual practices that allowed him to rest into this new state.

Of note also is that in Chinese astrology, he was born in the year of the tiger and we are in the last 10 days before the Chinese New Year of the Tiger begins and the new moon on February 1st. He was meant to complete his journey here before this new cycle would have begun for him. Further, he transitioned on the master number day of 22 in the year of 2022.

This great being was a role model for what it means to go beyond your comfort zone. The shadow side of the sign of Libra is to seek peace at the price of expressing one’s authentic self in order to be approved of. He showed us what courage means and stepping outside of your comfort zone to fully realize your dharma/ spiritual path. Take a moment and contemplate these quotes from him and allow them to change you in miraculous ways.
